【JLPT N4, N5 Vocabulary】Learn Japanese with Dragon Ball !! ドラゴンボール
I definitely agree with you on the writing part of it and I believe you are right about usage. Many will say it helps and that’s good for them. But honestly I have found the method of SRS of learning the hiragana and then the Kanji afterwards helps, especially when the words are similar like 選ぶ 選択 or 始終 最終 終える because then you can see the common kanji and the ON meaning of the word but also know the hiragana of it to help fall back on. You are also right this needs to be done everyday to keep learning and when you have to review it back again and keep going to make sure you type it out yourself to make sure you have it down.
As for your anime method I like it a lot better than trying to learn the average way. It also helps the mind not being relient on English. I kind of wish VNs were this easily accessible like Yomichan is with anime. This would be a great side thing for those that have decks and keep learning as well.
One thing I have a slight disagreement on is decks. I still think it’s important to have decks especially Grammar, verbs, adjectives, vocab and lastly sentences when one finally gets to an advanced level to learn how to formulate all these things together as examples. Yomichan and the anime method works as well to supplement and maybe speed the process but I do think it does help to diversify what one may encounter on VNs and various places if people travel to Japan as well or read VNs. But like I mentioned a few weeks back a person does not need to know 6k words at all maybe just about 3.4k total and it does have diminishing returns. But helps get a person started on some level and to be prepared for what to read next than starting out in the wilderness and have it feel daunting that they may not know anything or much at all despite still learning. Which by the way is normal.
Edit: also one thing I forgot to mention is to be careful to not speak like an anime character especially in Japan itself Its important to know the difference between polite language and vulgar language. As always some characters do speak very vulgar and swear in anime and manga. And speaking like that in real life does have have the risk of having them look down on you and potentially have a negative outlook on foreigners overall.
Hello again RK78-Project : DOLLY (I needed to find a name for your futuristic model of dolls)
I’ve been watching the first episode of 未来日記 (took me a couple of hours), and I kinda got stuck at the part of the explanation of the “survival game”. Do I need to watch it again, or do you think I can just skip over it? Also, I’ve been trying your anki deck (anki this, anki that…), and I wasn’t even disciplined enough to go through all of your deck (it looks like a nameless pain in the ass to me, don’t take it personally). Do you know any way I can have the whole part that I want to keep of the anime (with japanese voices and subs), as a separate video (even it’s a bit more complicated)?
I’ll never say enough, but thanks for your flawless dedication! Looking forward to your next videos!
Do you not feel that sentence cards that contain a target word to learn are preferable to word cards?
awesome video
you can get dictionaries with pitch accent here
Is it possible to have that card note type you have set up in your example here? 3:25
I love how you not only mindblow my perception of Japanese grammar but also my perception of language itself and life. You truly do an incredible work!
Very good tutorial that I’m sure will help a lot of learners really get into the language. I personally don’t like using anki as makes me be the judge of how well I know a certain word or kanji. I know you can mod anki to turn it into a quiz type app that asks you to write the word correctly and base how well you know it on how many times you’ve written it out correctly in any given time period. I do have other ways of doing that, so I haven’t found the need to use anki so far. I can certainly see the huge advantage linking it to apps like yomichan or rikaisama, though, the latter of which I still use on palemoon.
In my last comment I forgot to mention another really good resource for learning Japanese, that being NHKs simplified Japanese news section(). I’m not sure who I have to credit for mentioning it anymore, sadly, but it has helped me a lot getting used to breaking through that Japanese sentence structure barrier.
Excellent video ! I have been struggling playing Dragon Quest Builders 2 but that was to be expected, I am understanding more than I thought and I’m quite surprised actually.
I am pretty much doing the same things as you mention in your video except I can’t use Yomichan but my Android (I mean the OS not an actual android like of course) dictionnary is letting me create word list .
I’d like to add something about writing kanji though, while it’s true that people no longer need to write that much nowadays, writing kanji helped me with kanji like
小 and 少 or 麦 and 夏 I know longer confound them since I started writing them.
I am quite looking forward to the kanji memorization trick video !
