The girl in the mask is my friend. What the heck, Nobita!
I was just thinking that maybe the martial arts way of life and focus on internal/external development can be a mental block to engaging a fitness culture. Beginning with the spiritual traditions of Buddhism and the like.
Gym fitness may seem to be a mostly “external” activity with a focus on just looking externally developed for bragging, without necessarily a deeper purpose or value to it.
It could subconsciously look like that to people, just like the mother of the American speaker in the video who felt that he was a narcissist, as he put it.
I’m not really surprised by anything in this video, although it is interesting to note that Japan always sends a big team to international powerlifting events. Looks like the IPF has a major event in Tokyo in May. Maybe Nobita should go and interview some people there.
It’s not just a Japanese issue it’s an Asian issue there just isn’t much of a culture in Japan and Asia when it comes to fitness. Fitness makes you stronger, more confident, more productive, more happier, healthier, better looking it’s not just about losing weight and looking good but also about using our bodies. Our bodies are not designed to sit for long periods of time just like animals we are also meant to use our bodies.
Im new to your channel..and i love it bro!

Well I think their health or diet is more about what they do or don’t eat and drink, that is why going to gym is not a thing for them
Ive worked as medical fitnesstrainer in Japan for a orthopedics Hospital. I felt my self more as a entertainer. Of course my clients were Obasan and Ojisan but i always felt some kind off negative repulsive behave. The American dude explains perfectly what Japanese people think. Just becaus you have so muscles and take you nutrition and workout serious. I always thought as a Trainer i should look good to be a good example.
